Panama Restaurant Week 2016. The tenth edition of “Restaurant Week Panama” will take place from Thursday, September 15, for a period of two weeks until Friday, September 30. During this time, food lovers will enjoy the varied culinary offer of cuisines from the best restaurants in the city, each with a special menu designed for this event.

Restaurant Week was held for the first time in 1992 as a promotional event for lunches in some of the restaurants in New York City. Today, different versions of the event are held in several cities around the world, including London, England; Madrid and Barcelona, Spain; Acapulco, Mexico; Miami and Washington, United States and Panama City.

The event provides a special menu in each restaurant including a starter, main course, dessert and a drink (either Canada Dry Ginger Ale or a 507 Red Lager Beer) for a single price that ranges between $20 and $35.

The idea is that people get to know and enjoy outstanding dishes from each of the participating restaurants while highlighting the cuisine of Panama and positioning the country as a culinary tourist destination.

In addition to these specials, Restaurant Week offers discounts for St. Georges Bank credit card holders who will receive a 20% discount on Restaurant Week prices on paying with that card In addition, tourists will receive a postcard with 10% discount on presenting their passport.
